TAMARSIDE SENIORS

CLUB HISTORY

 

The Tamarside seniors were formulated in the year 2000.

 

The need arose to start the senior section due to the quality of the players coming through from the juniors and provide these players exit routes into senior football maintaining the level of coaching and commitment they had experienced with the Juniors.

 

The side started in the lower regions of the Plymouth and District league but under the management of Jon Roseveare and the financial backing of Steve Fifield stormed its way into the premier division inside 3 years winning league and cup honours along the way.

 

With the demand increasing to play for the club a second side was introduced and a move to the Parkway Sports Club club in Ernesettle transpired one of only a handful of floodlit facilities available.

 

With the second side emulating the first side by storming through the P+D leagues the first team moved to the East Cornwall League and is competing in the Premier Division after achieving the Division 1 title in an unbeaten league campaign.

 

You will find a variety of ex Tamarside players competing in higher leagues in the football pyramid and it is our aim that with ground improvements and financial backing we will to be able to compete in the Peninsula league and beyond.

 

The club still adopts the principle of utilising the youngsters from the youth set-up and the 18s are included in the seniors umbrella and supply both sides with valuable additions to the squads every season.
